Last Friday, in the LCK Playoffs, Dplus KIA officially secured their spot at Worlds 2026 after defeating KT Rolster 3-1. This victory not only brought joy to fans but also pushed KT Rolster down to compete in the Demacia Cup Global Invitational. However, few know that just days earlier, Dplus KIA suffered a 0-3 loss to the very same KT Rolster. That lackluster performance worried fans, especially since DK had just won the Esports World Cup and were in high form during the mid-season of the LCK. Not stopping there, DK nearly fell into danger when they allowed BNK FEARX to lead 2-0 in the previous match day. However, the team quickly regained their form, completed a reverse sweep, and then defeated KT Rolster to secure a top 4 position in the LCK. The bot lane duo became DK's anchor After the reverse sweep against BNK FEARX, Dplus KIA entered the match against KT Rolster with a determination for revenge. However, the first game's developments worried DK fans as KT quickly controlled the game and won quite easily. Nevertheless, DK responded immediately in game 2. The two teams engaged in a tense 42-minute battle. After that, careful preparation and smart ban/pick helped Dplus KIA gain the upper hand. DK continuously restricted KT's preferred picks, leaving the opponent with little opportunity to utilize their strengths. One of the standout names for DK was AD carry Sin "Smash" Geum-jae. The MVP of the Esports World Cup final continued his impressive performance, consistently creating advantages for his team in the games Dplus KIA won. Alongside Smash, Oh "Career" Hyung-suk also made a notable comeback. After performing poorly in the first game, Career quickly regained his confidence and coordinated effectively with his bot lane partner. DK returns to the Worlds stage With the victory over KT Rolster, Dplus KIA officially returned to the most prestigious stage of League of Legends after missing Worlds 2026. Notably, Smash, Career, and Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo will attend their first Worlds. However, before thinking about lifting the world championship trophy, DK still has a long road ahead.
